Developing Your Marketing Strategy

In conjunction with Bob Mason and Lorraine Rossiter, John has proposed an exciting combination of training and coaching, to help us develop efficient, cost-effective marketing strategies which are outlined as follows:

Stage 1
You receive a (relatively short) document reminding you of some of the key points from John's presentation in Blackpool. With this will come some templates which are designed to help capture your thoughts and/or help you to identify what other information you need.

Stage 2 - Workshop at Cheshire East Council
You spend a day on a workshop led by John. This workshop will take some of the Blackpool topics into more depth. You will then work in small groups on the key topics with the aim of developing approaches which will be evaluated and critiqued by John.

Stage 3
After the day spent with John you will return to your offices and fine-tune your strategies. Prior to implementation of these strategies, you will have the chance to share your thoughts, via email, with John who will help you to identify any gaps or potential improvements in your plan.

The result of this process is that you will have a clear and objective assessment of your strengths and weaknesses and you can use this to identify the most attractive and logical segments to attack and what actions you need to take to strengthen your position in those segments. This will help you to identify who you need to communicate with and what information to tell them.

Essentially you will have a cost effective strategy for you and your colleagues to implement. This strategy will have realistic and measurable objectives and the self evident logic of the proposed strategy should ensure that you win the support of all of your key colleagues.

Developing Your Marketing Strategy

When we met at the Local Land Charges Conference in Blackpool our marketing guru, John Leach, gave us plenty to think about.

Now we have the chance to turn those thoughts into actions. Actions which will help us to claw back business and increase the income streams into our authorities.
